The seed for this glaze came from a glaze at Wayne State University (Detroit, Michigan USA). I was not searching for any particular look when I created this grid. I was just exploring variations of the slate glaze.

For me the two most interesting glazes in this grid are #7 and #16. They both are mainly black, but tend to break blue along the edges. These may be worth further testing. All of the glazes that appear black in this grid are glossy. It is interesting to note how the melt of the glaze effects the coloration. The glazes in this grid that have a nice full glossy melt are black. The ones that are less melted develop blues.
